Area Sales Manager Bobbi Brown / Jo Malone

Position Summary:

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for the Bobbi Brown & Jo Malone business success and image in a given geographical area. S/he is responsible for implementing sales plans and marketing activity and maintaining the highest standards of customer service and store presentation in line with guidelines provided by the Global office.

Responsibilities:

Drive Retail Sales

  • Achieve Retail sales targets and in his/her region

  • Drive the Retail Managers and their teams to achieve and exceed their objectives

  • Ensure that the highest levels of customers services are offered at all times

  • Set Retail Sales targets and customer service standards.Track sales results.

  • Lead by example

  • Communicate effectively to the teams and management.Motivate the teams

  • Plan Store visits effectively. Ensure time and resources are allocated strategically.

  • Maintain a supportive and collaborative relationship with the business partner – while ensuring status, store environment and operating conditions are respected (where applicable)

Business Analysis

  • Analyze the business : monitor KPIs, evaluate individual Store Manager or Sales Advisor performance individually

  • Identify business challenges in each door. Assess the performance of the team.

  • Monitor competitive business environment

  • Report in a timely and effective manner to management (Sales Manager and/or Brand Manager)

Business planning and strategic thinking

  • Elaborate a growth strategy according to the type of store

  • With the Store manager, elaborate and implement action plans to improve sales, customer service and the productivity of the teams

  • Supervise Sales Advisor scheduling to ensure the productivity and the capacity to serve customers are optimized

  • Control expenses and manage budgets

  • Ensure the correct rotation of stock. Monitor stock levels and supervise monthly orders

  • Enable the team to conduct extra Services, in store events, Retail Events (where applicable)

  • Negotiate extra support from the retail partner (where applicable)

Supervise Store Manager in the execution of Operational processes

  • Supervise the operational condition of store: VM, cleanliness, hygiene, safety, maintenance, lighting, etc…

  • Ensure the correct execution of the store management procedures (opening and closing, cash handling, safety, HR)

  • Be the expert in the use of the operating system

  • Successfully manage new door openings

Training and Development

  • Train and develop the Store managers to successfully manage their doors

  • Succession planning: anticipate staffing needs, and movements.

  • Create successful teams by matching individual profiles and competencies

  • Conduct the recruitments in a professional manner to ensure the highest quality of skills, Customer Service and work ethics.

  • Evaluate Sales Advisor to develop and promote those with management potential.

  • Collaborate with Training Manager to ensure training needs are met

Education: Minimum high school education, college background preferred.

  • Job-Related Experience: Previous experience in field retail management is mandatory. store management background a plus.

  • Leadership, training, management experience needed.

  • Analytical/Interpretive Skills: Training and coaching new and existing employees.

  • Ability to council employee conflicts and to function in a fast paced environment.Embrace the company’s corporate philosophy.

  • Fluent in Dutch, French & English
