POSITION OVERVIEW

Le Labo is currently experiencing a very rare and special moment in a brand.We are fortunate enough to be growing and expanding our cult following at an exponential rate and we would like to adapt and scale our internal organization accordingly. It is paramount during this growth period, that we preserve the values of our unique business model and mission: slow perfumery, man-made approach and mindfulness in everything we do.

The position of Coun ter manager will be key to the success of our growth.We are looking for a gem, who intrinsically shares our values and can love Le Labo, the brand, the lifestyle and the souls within the organization. The individual should be a “people-person” and have a profound sense of empathy.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

HR/Accounting:

  • Manage hiring of the team, with assistance of LL Europe team

  • Train/supervise store teams

  • Provide LL Europe team payroll information, including wages, commissions, bonus, hours, holidays, sick time, in order for pay slips to be processed

Stock Management:

  • Prepare forecast of stock needs

  • Manage stock levels, including completing accurate and timely stock-takes

  • Oversee all purchase order preparation and billing with assistance of LL Europe

  • Order necessary store supplies, including lab, cleaning, office, etc.

Store Management:

  • Provide daily and weekly sales updates and comprehensive monthly sales reports

  • Ensure health and safety rules are applied in every store

  • Implement new launches (training, merchandising)

  • Track team’s productivity, including tracking web orders

  • Manage cash controls within store, including maintaining cash register/petty cash levels, coordinating with banks and armored car service, and preventing theft or fraudulent use of cash

  • Manage safe-guarding of assets, including coordinating with security teams (cameras, locks, etc) and taking inventory of furniture/fixtures in the store

  • Manage the vendor services such as credit card processing company

Bookkeeping Support:

  • Complete expense template to detail the items purchased on credit card, cash, or via invoice

  • Organize invoices and label them based on what items were purchased

  • Liaise with affiliate accountants related to questions on sales reconciliations, cash, gift cards, discounts, etc.

  • Scan and send all accounting-related documents to the affiliate accountants (sales reports/details, copies of invoices/bills, intercompany information)

Business Development:

  • Act a local brand ambassador and help develop Le Labo; i.e. identify new business opportunities, create innovative incentives, develop brand awareness

  • Monitor and analyze event/incentive’s performance

  • Identify co-branding opportunities; connect with hotels, restaurants, etc. to seek business opportunities

  • Support existing / future retail partners with training, if needed

Clients interactions & Customer service:

  • Ensuring a welcoming environment for the client at the counter

  • Sharing with the client his/her knowledge on the art of fine perfumery, on the brand, and on the collection.

  • Compounding perfumes, labeling, boxing the products.

  • Build a strong client database to do clienteling.

  • Counter maintenance & Merchandising

QUALIFICATIONS / PROFILE / SKILLS

  • Retail ops / Team management experience

  • Driven by sales, performances and commercial success

  • Very pro active / sensitive to deadlines / ability to manage many different projects in different areas

  • Hands-on and can-do approach on everything, actual doer / roll up your sleeve attitude

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Multi tasker, ability to wear different hats, like everybody in our small company

  • Genuine understanding of LE LABO culture and values. We are also looking for a “personality” with the right sensitivity and who will be eager to contribute to our mission.

  • At the very minimum: 3 to 4 years of retail experience / on the field

  • An experience in department store environment would be a plus

  • Computer proficiency with the usual MAC OS, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook) and classical POS system
