Area Retail Trainer MAC - Regio Brabant-Limburg
The Area Retail Trainer supports the MAC Vision and drives sales through the development, knowledge and skills of our Retail field Leaders and Retail Artists, across multiple channels through in-store education, classroom-based education and video learning. This involves elevating the customer service, artistry, product knowledge skills, social media and sales skills of Retail Managers and Retail Artists by facilitating all Art and Commerce Education Fundamentals.
Drive Brand Sales through excellence in execution of Art and Commerce Education Fundamentals:
Classroom Education- Facilitate All Education trainings - Basic Training, Specialty Multi Basic Training, classroom MAC Update, One Day Orientation, Advanced Makeup & Fashion Show Skill Certification with Make Up Artistry, Online/Email an Artist Training, Omni-channel education.Facilitate/support Retail Manager MAC Update, Retail Manager Academy, MRO Milestone and other CT&D classroom education initiatives- aligning with Sales Department
Development of field teams- feed the commercial, artistry, product knowledge and customer service skills of the field teams, giving them the tools to support the instore business through Art and Commerce following up in key focus doors
In-Store Support -Follow up in focus doors on Education Fundamentals through the Sales and Education field leaders to ensure training initiatives are effectively translated into behaviors that support excellence in service, artistry and product knowledge.
In-Store Education (as above)- Observe Managers/mentors and give feedback on MAC Update GO delivery, Skill Certification prep, Discovery Menu, Boot Camps IS Modules and Product Specialist Orientation.
Video Learning ContentCreate locally relevant artistry, service and product knowledge-focused tutorial videos for e-learning site in collaboration with the Make Up Artistry/PR and Consumer marketing teams.
Play active role in refining and evolving the Education and business strategy for the region by:
Aligning with the Sales leaders, leveraging feedback from the field on the effectiveness of education initiatives, gather training needs analysis, staff performance/mystery shop results, and general sales and education business gaps - meeting those gaps through education initiatives and direction for the retail leaders
Attending select monthly counter meetings in focus doors with partner, and participating by presenting ideas, discussing departmental developments, coaching and supporting others.
Attending regularly scheduled strategy meetings with NEM and NSM to discuss Education and business strategies, competitive landscape, evolving customer needs, review progress on regional priorities, identify challenges and define action plans with Sales partner, which support the needs of the business.
Lead and develop employees by:
Feed the field leaders with tools needed to effectively empower the Retail Managers to drive their teams and business to success
Supporting the interviewing and selection of MAC Artists in collaboration with field leaders where necessary
Supporting succession planning programs for MAC Managers and Artists by recommending and creating development opportunities
Assisting in the implementation of measures to reduce and minimize staff turnover including coaching and developing others, providing clear feedback and offering ways to effectively and efficiently improve.
Helping to monitor and recommend action to correct poor performance according to MAC progressive discipline policies.
Overseeing the Affiliate Educational schedules in collaboration with National Education Manager and Education co coordinator
Collaborating with the Education Coordinator on all educational core trainings, with clear communication and a timely plan
Ensure the timely submission and accuracy of credit card statements, expense reports and company-owned asset forms.
Assist in reviewing and tracking expenditures in accordance with departmental/affiliate budgets.
Help ensure training premises are maintained, clean, functional and properly equipped.
Help maintain security and control of training equipment materials within the training premises.
Adhere to and provide the example for MAC policies regarding customer service expectations, dress code and MAC’s professional standards.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
- Specialist education in Makeup Artistry or Equivalent experience from the makeup industry. Higher education preffered.
Job-Related Skills :
Proven exceptional ability in makeup application and customer service skills.
Strong communication skill including public speaking, facilitation and content creation.
Strong ability to analyze retail environment needs and provide actionable training solution.
Must be versatile and have the ability to adapt approach to all levels of the business from top management to retail artists
Organizational skills including planning of larger events, budgets and retail KPI analyses.
Job - Related Experience :
2 years’ experience as an MAC Artist and/or within the education department.
1 year experience in an educational and/or leadership function.
Experience as a Product Specialist and event team member.
Proven ability of training and coaching field teams.
